This beautiful house, built around 1700, was the home of Edward and Elizabeth Morgan, grandparents of one of America's most famous pioneers, Daniel Boone.
A number of other prominent citizens have descended from the Morgans as well, including Brigadier General Daniel Morgan, radio's Lowell Thomas, and mutual fund trailblazer Walter L. Morgan.
The two-story house is built of finely squared logs, chinked with stones set in a decorative pattern. With ninety percent of its original materials intact, this house offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore early architecture.
Visitors can enjoy a tour of the house and learn about the lifestyle of Welsh Quaker pioneer families in early Pennsylvania. The rooms are appointed with fine antique furnishings and household implements. Original decorative arts can be enjoyed. Tours are conducted by authentically costumed historical interpreters who can answer questions about the house, the Morgans, and 18th century eastern Pennsylvania.
Outside, the gardens are typical of the time period and feature herbs, flowers, and native Pennsylvania plants.
A variety of family programs and special events are offered throughout the year, and School Groups can participate in some of these as well. Examples of the topics that may be covered include archaeology workshops, summer celebrations, potpourri workshops, harvest festivals, and more. Many programs are seasonal, such as a Christmas Candlelight Tour. Call for a calendar and further information.
Children's birthday parties may also be held at the site. Group Tours are welcome. School Group Tours will be adapted to accommodate any grade level. Groups consist of 10 or more people.
Hours: April 1st - December, Saturday & Sunday 12 - 5pm. Last tour begins at 4:30pm. Groups may schedule weekday tours throughout the year.

Directions: I-76 West to I-476 North to Rt. 9 North (PA Tpke Extension) to Kulpsville Rt. 363 North about 1 mile to Snyder Rd. Left onto Snyder. Go several blocks to Weikel Rd., turn right. Museum is on left side.
