A relatively new museum, the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinis College evokes the excitement and energy in its youth. With a large collection of art in a wide range of media, gathered from throughout the world, the Berman Museum offers first-class exhibitions to its communities and to visitors from other states and countries.

Some examples of past and future (as of this writing) exhibitions: Stone Echoes: Original Prints by Francoise Gilot; A Way of Life: Pennsylvania German Culture and Traditions -- featuring objects, artifacts and art from both the Museum's German Collection as well as additional loans from museums and historical organizations around the state. Tools, household items, fraktur (beautifully inscribed personal documents), furniture and other items represent this unique culture; allTURNatives: Form and Spirit -- a unique display of lathe-turned objects by the resident artists of the International Turning Exchange. This exhibit was accompanied by a Learning Fair with lathe turning demonstrations and other activities; The Origins of the Computer Age: ENIAC. In addition, each year brings the university's student exhibition.

Most exhibitions last two to three months, but as can be seen by the above samples, the Museum's interest in art is wide and intense. The one constant that remains though the Berman Museum's programs is that each is wonderful.

Individuals and families are always welcome to tour the museum on their own. Groups can arrange a guided tour. Throughout the year various special events, lectures, films and receptions are scheduled, and all are invited.
