Millstone is a fun-filled, educational experience for people of any age. How many adults know how the atom produces electricity? Not me. Find out here.
The Center's many hands-on exhibits include interactive video displays on nuclear energy, the marine environment of Long Island Sound, radiation, radioactive waste disposal, electrical safety, and more. Outside there is even a nature trail.
Computer Games test your knowledge on nuclear energy and different methods of electrical production. View a stereographic hologram and use a Geiger counter to measure radiation from some items you may find in your own home.
The Center offers a Multi-Media Presentation called, "Electricity -- How a Nuclear Power Plant Works."
These lively displays and activities are interesting and lots of fun. Shy adults can bring kids along for an excuse to be there!
School Groups are welcome, and places like this can really get children interested in science.
And one nice thing is that admission is free to all. If you're headed in that direction, make it a point to take advantage of this exceptional facility.
