Featuring hundreds of species of cultivars (species derived by a horticultural process, as distinguished from a natural variety), the Arboretum is an educational and horticultural display devoted to the many kinds of trees, shrubs, and woody plants growing in Monmouth County.

Special features include the Jane Kluis Memorial Dwarf Conifer Garden showcasing these beautiful trees in their shades of green, blue, gold, and pink. The Alvarez Synoptic Garden includes plantings and trees and shrubs labeled in alphabetical order. The Arboretum also includes a number of ornamental trees and shrubs such as hawthornes, dogwoods, pine, spruce, fir, and others.
