This fabulous 19th century mansion is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Four stories high and featuring a magnificent octagonal rotunda surrounded by fifty beautifully decorated rooms, the mansion surpasses any house of its era in size, scope, and craftsmanship. Artists and artisans were brought from Europe to create the rich variety of gilt, fresco, marble, woodwork, and etched glass found throughout the building.

In addition to a Guided Tour and a Victorian gift shop, individuals and families can participate in a number of special events and exhibits throughout the year including unique courses on subjects like how to select the best wines for the money and a five-day workshop for children 7 to 13 that will interpret our 19th century heritage.

The Museum also sponsors cultural and historical field trips, including trips to far away places such as Spain.

While there are no specific programs for School Groups, they can certainly take a guided tour of this lavishly decorated and historic house for a study of architecture, interior design, and the fine arts.
